The Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of Château du Rayet. There is a large bespoke, hand crafted central island with an exquisite stone surface. Beautiful bespoke cabinetry and stone floors (cool in summer and warm underfloor heating in winter).
The window seat is peaceful spot for enjoying a morning coffee (and a croissant from Patisserie Rodot) - the view of the Courtyard and beyond to the Dropt valley is magical.
For those guests who enjoy cooking, the kitchen is an absolute dream. It is fully equipped with everything you may possibly need to produce a masterpiece (or simply a “help yourself” spread).
It is perfectly situated as it adjoins the dining room and the window is the perfect serving hatch into the Courtyard when dining outside.
Like everything else in the Château, the appliances are of the highest quality, including a large Gaggenau fridge/freezer, two Miele dishwashers and a Quooker hot water tap. There is also a beautiful Aga (a modern state of the art one which quickly warms up). We use it for cooking and also as an extra source of warmth in winter (with the underfloor heating, the kitchen is a very warm and cosy space in winter). There are also two conventional ovens. There is also a Nespresso machine, a Dualit 4-slice toaster and an Ooni electric pizza oven which can be located outside for fun pizza evenings.
The Dining Room
The Courtyard is a magical place for al fresco dining. But if the weather isn’t kind or you just fancy a change, the Dining Room offers a wonderful alternative.
It really is a special room with a 14 seater dining table, 2 iron chandeliers and a beautiful tapestry. With stone walls, high ceilings and wooden beams, this is a majestic room, perfect for feasting and celebrating.
