Are you looking for the perfect destination for a family celebration?

Many of our guests have booked the Château in order to host an important birthday or anniversary.  It’s a wonderful way to mark a milestone event and is perfect for guests of all ages (from new born babies to great grandparents and everyone else in between). 

The Accommodation

The Château is big enough to comfortably sleep 14 people (including the Atelier separate apartment) with plenty of space for people to congregate all together or find spaces away from the crowd. The downstairs boasts many beautifully designed and furnished Living Spaces with stone walls, wooden beams and high ceilings.

The Château hosts family celebrations at all times of year.  The house is cool in summer and warm and cosy in winter (with underfloor heating, log fires and the Aga).  The thick stone walls keep the climate constant. 

The Château has been renovated to a very high standard throughout.   All of your guests will have their own private sanctuary with comfortable big beds, The White Company bed linen and a luxury ensuite bathroom stocked with indulgent Bramley products. We can provide everything you need for younger members of the party - with cots, high chairs and Bramley Little B baby toiletries provided on request.  Well behaved dogs can also be accommodated (we know they are family members too).

The Grounds

The Grounds are beautiful and you are free to roam the meadows and the forests.  The large, heated Pool is set in peaceful countryside with easy access steps and a shallow end for safety - we spend hours playing and relaxing in and around the Pool.  The Courtyard is a wonderful place for dining, BBQs and playing family games such Boules and Molki late into the evening (the Château offers complete privacy so you can make as much noise as you want). 

Activities for your Guests

There is plenty for everyone to do and enjoy - be it family ping pong tournaments in the Playbarn, splashing in the private & heated Pool, board games to be played together across the generations, group work outs in the Gym & Yoga Studio (or having a bit of time out) and/or exploring the beautiful countryside and Local Attractions.

Yoga classes, massages and wine tours in the region and/or wine tasting at the Château can also be arranged. 

Magical memories full of laughter and togetherness will be created and last a lifetime.

The Celebration   

For the celebratory event itself, outside dining in the Courtyard is a wonderful option (comfortably seating 14).  Alternatively the dining room offers a sense of grandeur and occasion (comfortably seating 14). Weather permitting the choice is yours.  

In terms of what you will eat and drink - Château du Rayet sits at the heart of one of France's finest food and drink region in South West France. We can recommend two exceptional private chefs who will come directly to the château, cook a wonderful meal and do the cleaning up.

Ruthie is a chef and event creator based in the Dordogne with a wonderful pedigree. She first worked in various restaurant kitchens in central London, including that of the five-star Dorchester Hotel, before going out on her own. For nearly twenty years she ran a successful catering business, whilst also working as a freelance event organiser and food stylist for film, TV and publications. Now living in the Dordogne, she feels lucky being surrounded by high-quality local food producers who enable her to create exquisite, highly creative menus that she adapts to any taste or occasion. 

Patricia Richer is an internationally experienced chef based in the Lot-et-Garonne who specialises in bringing refined, creative and deeply personal dining experiences directly to your table. Her style blends land and sea, combining the finest local and seasonal produce for an unforgettable gastronomic experience. 

In terms of sourcing your wine, we are surrounded by wonderful Local Vineyards. We would also recommend Fromages et Plus which sits right on the market square in Villeréal. Pascal, Fanny and Rémy are passionate about what they do and between them have an encyclopaedic knowledge of wine and they will help you put together a wine flight to match your courses, turning a meal into a proper occasion.

Pâtisserie Rodot creates the most wonderful masterpieces including cakes for all occasions.

I love this cute twin room which can be made up as a twin or a double. With its own en-suite with beautiful Morrocon handmade Zellige tiles, wooden beams and beautiful old stone walls, it's the perfect place to curl up with a book and relax.
We love going for walks in the grounds of the Château and exploring the surrounding forests - enjoyable in every season. Lots of exciting wildlife scents for Bernie the dog to follow.
